Goal
With a distinct core philosophy, sound programming, comprehensive training and a bike designed to fit all shapes, sizes and abilities, our cycling program has always had one singular goal: to bring health and fitness to every lifestyle - regardless of your age, weight, fitness/coordination level, gender, or any and all other considerations that might have a negative effect in other group fitness programs.
Philosophy
The heart and soul of our cycling program, our philosophy, is to instruct using sound training principles, safety techniques and motivational coaching skills designed to create a mind/body connection.
Programming
Our cycling program is designed to mirror real road cycling techniques. With five core movements and three hand positions, the program allows all fitness enthusiasts to experience the comaraderie of group exercise - at a self-directed pace.
Setup and Safety
Our certified instructors have undergone intensive training to help you with bike setup and safety, proper form and technique, heart rate training principles and more. Instructors should always encourage you to ride at your own pace and provide options for different fitness levels. The fundamental goal of our cycling program is to create a fun, safe and energizing ride for all participants. It is the instructors' primary responsibility to ensure the safety of all participants. All of the movements used in our classes are derived from real cycling techniques.
Classroom Setting
A clean room-We will always provide you with a clean room. All bikes will be cleaned with an anti-bacterial spray regularly.
A quality sound system-We're not talking full-on surround sound, however, the music and your instructor should be loud enough to hear, but not so loud (over 100 decibels) that you might incur some hearing loss over time.
Bikes in good condition-We have done extensive research so we can ensure that you have the best bikes available. All bikes will undergo regular maintenance and will be repaired immediately when broken or when not working properly.
Heart rate monitors-Heart rate training is widely recognized as the most effective training tool to burn calories, build strength and improve overall fitness - it's also the cornerstone of our cycling program. Wearing a heart rate monitor is the best way to gauge the intensity of your ride, prevent overtraining and keep you progressing toward your goals. We use our own Intensity Zone System which divides the heart rate training range into five zones. Each zone corresponds to a particular class and delivers specific training benefits. In order to assist you in the accomplishment of these goals, everyone will be furnished with a heart rate monitor. Your instructor should help you determine the right intensity and ensure that you stay at the appropriate levels for your fitness goals.
Variety-Our cycling program is built around parameters called Intensity Zones to accommodate riders' various needs and training goals. If your schedule just describes classes as "Cycling", you won't know what to prepare for and classes won't be as exciting. Our program will have a different profile or ride from one class to the next.
Our cycling program blends technique, sound training principles and expert coaching in 60-minute training sessions that energize, challenge and inspire. Each 60-minute class offers enthusiasts of all ages and fitness levels the chance to experience the benefits of calorie-burning, energizing workouts at a self-directed pace.
